Emergency Department

Hemphill County Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) is a 24/7 Level IV trauma center. We serve individuals within our community and the surrounding region who require emergency care.

The ED provides emergency services via a three-bed unit. Care in the ED is provided by the best physicians, emergency nurse practitioners (ENPs), registered nurses, and EMT/ED techs in the region. The ED team is supported by a 24-hour on-call lab and radiology staff.

Hemphill County EMS

In a medical emergency, nothing is more important than a fast response. So, we make certain expert medical assistance is just a few minutes away – 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.

Our Ambulance Services Department is staffed by state-licensed Paramedics. Their training and expertise, as well as the sophisticated equipment on board each ambulance, enable them to provide our community with exceptional Mobile Intensive Care Services. HCH Ambulance Services also works closely with Police and Fire Departments.

Laboratory

Experts in Hemphill County Hospital’s CLIA-Certified Clinical Laboratory provide in-house testing for faster results. Our professional laboratory staff works tirelessly to serve you in immunohematology, chemistry, virology, serology, hematology, and microscopy. In addition, we provide transfusion services, urine drug screen collections, and more.

Radiology

The highly-trained staff in our Radiology Department performs state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, including CT Scans, X-ray, Ultrasound, and Heart Health Screenings.

Radiology hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The dedicated team provides 24-hour ER and inpatient services, as well as after-hours outpatient services, by appointment—for your convenience.

Rehabilitation & Therapy

Hemphill County Hospital’s Rehabilitation & Therapy Services provide a wide range of rehabilitation and therapy options to patients of all ages in Canadian and the surrounding region. Our therapy team understands the physical and mental challenges a patient may face during the healing process. We offer outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy and related services to the community. The treatment team works diligently with patients to achieve their optimal developmental and functional levels through one-on-one therapy and family/caregiver education. Through quality and compassionate care, our therapy team is dedicated to helping patients become healthier and more active – and return to living their lives to the fullest!

GI Lab

The GI Lab at Hemphill County Hospital, also known as the Endoscopy Department, offers screening and diagnostic procedures for the gastrointestinal tract. Utilizing specialized scopes and cameras, our highly-trained physicians and experienced staff perform colonoscopies and endoscopy treatments with efficiency and accuracy. Together, we provide quality and compassionate care to patients in our community and region.

Sleep Disorders Center

At the Hemphill County Hospital Sleep Disorders Center, we are expertly trained in sleep medicine to evaluate test results and develop a treatment plan to resolve sleep-related issues. Our board-certified sleep specialists and registered sleep technologists are here to help you get a better night’s rest, beginning with state-of-the-art sleep studies, which are conducted on site. A sleep study is a simple, outpatient procedure that monitors multiple aspects of your sleep and gives your physician critical information required to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.

Nutritional Counseling Services

Hemphill County Hospital offers clinical nutrition counseling services for patients staying in the hospital, as well as any outpatients with a physician referral.

We believe good health starts with good nutrition, and we are committed to helping all our community members make healthy lifestyle changes. Personalized nutrition education and counseling services are available to any outpatients authorized for nutrition education, even those who were not treated at our hospital.
